Safety
Introduction
Jefferson Parish pairs a strong safety record with highly responsive law enforcement, making it a secure, well-managed community. In 2023, unincorporated Jefferson Parish achieved an 11 % drop in major crime, reaching its second-lowest level since the 1970s. One of the strongest contributors to this improvement is very fast law enforcement response: emergency calls in the parish average 4 minutes to respond, while non-emergencies average about 11 minutes, significantly faster than neighboring large urban areas.
