Over the course of its 25-year history, The Jefferson EDGE has provided a roadmap for promoting sustainability, job growth, and investment in Jefferson Parish. First adopted in 2000, the initial plan helped set the course for many of the Parish’s most successful initiatives.

The Jefferson EDGE 2030 was created with public and private participation and input from key stakeholders and partners. The Jefferson EDGE 2030 builds upon the previous EDGE plans to create a forward-thinking document that will inform the future of the Jefferson Parish economy. It is centered on six strategic priorities that all work in tandem to drive economic progress and validate Jefferson Parish as a major destination for business, innovation and quality of life.

Strategic Priorities

Industry Ecosystem Development

Invest in industry clusters that leverage parish strengths, resources, and assets- energy, food & beverage, healthcare, and manufacturing – through flagship projects like Churchill Park and the Food & Beverage Incubator.

Talent Development, Attraction and Retention

Build career pathways from education through employment, creating incentives to retain graduates, and partnering with schools and employers to address the skills gap.

Place-Based Development

Create walkable communities by investing in mixed-use developments and strategic infrastructure, and transform underutilized properties into developments that support economic growth through major redevelopment partnerships.

Business Climate Improvement

Enhance Jefferson Parish’s business environment to increase attraction and retention by streamlining zoning and permitting processes, addressing rising insurance costs, and implementing targeted business incentives.

Regional Positioning

Position Jefferson Parish within the Greater New Orleans area to leverage collaborative opportunities while communicating its distinctive competitive advantages as a cooperative partner.

Organizational Effectiveness

Build JEDCO’s internal capacity and resources to successfully implement EDGE 2030 priorities and strengthen data-driven storytelling to increase community awareness.

Invest in the Jefferson EDGE

Innovator: $25,000+ Level

Through private funding and investment, the Jefferson EDGE has delivered key initiatives to the community, consistently evolving to meet the needs of Jefferson Parish. While many of the action items and recommendations of the Jefferson EDGE can and have been implemented by JEDCO alone, the major initiatives that create catalytic change in the Parish require seed funding. Private investment in the EDGE fund is the difference between realizing these major initiatives and losing momentum on our path to success. Public-private partnership gives Jefferson Parish a competitive EDGE.

The EDGE Investor levels represent the contribution amount received annually.
